Amazon.com Product Description For the ultimate in wireless freedom, look no further than the Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth headset, which represents a generational leap in Bluetooth headset technology. It's comfortable and light enough for all day wear, and it offers unprecedented clarity and sound quality. These are great features, but the real revolution involves Plantronics' exclusive Multipoint technology, which allows the headset to function as a powerful communication solution for up to two Bluetooth devices. With Multipoint technology you can switch between your voice-enabled Bluetooth mobile phone, PDA or laptop. The headset's "smart" technology knows which device you are using and allows you to take calls from any device at the touch of a button. With the optional Plantronics Bluetooth Deskphone Adapter you can even switch between your office phone and your Bluetooth mobile phone. You'll never need to use a dedicated "landline" phone headset again. The 510 features WindSmart technology, which enhances call clarity in windy environments (i.e., car with window/roof open, air conditioning on, outside with breeze), and it folds for easy storage. The boom also swivels for perfect positioning on either ear. One-touch call control buttons are placed for easy access, and you can easily redial the last number dialed and initiate voice-activated calls from the headset. Because the 510 is Bluetooth-enabled (it supports the Bluetooth 1.2 specification) you can roam up to 33 feet from your Bluetooth device. Meanwhile, the 510 supports adaptive frequency hopping (AFH) which helps avoid interference from Wi-Fi networks. Ample talk time is provided by the built-in rechargeable battery; you'll get up to 6 hours talk time and up to 100 hours of standby time. Specifications
- Talk time: Up to 6 hours
- Standby time: Up to 100 hours
- Bluetooth version: 1.2 (supports headset and hands-free profiles)
- Wearing style: Over-the-ear; boom swivels for wearing on either ear
- Headset controls: Volume, mute, call answer/end, voice-activated dialing (must be supported by your phone)
- Adaptive Frequency Hopping: Yes (helps to avoid interference for co-existence with Wi-Fi/WLAN)
- Supports analog and digital office phones: Yes

disappointed July 29, 2010 Note Taker (California, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Ordered 3 and trying out now number 3 with hopes it too won't be defective. So far 2 of 3 are being returned hoping 1 will work. We will know by the end of this day.VERY DISAPPOINTED! Great price but not if they don't work . I now get to see how Amazon stands behind their stuff.
Best Bluetooth Headset Ever July 29, 2010 Stephen J. Miller (Apex, NC) I've been using this headset for over 3 years now and it is hands-down the best bluetooth headset. I will never buy another Motorola bluetooth headset after experiencing what this Plantronics unit can do.
Worked very good, then started to die July 28, 2010 Michael L (Austin, TX USA) I use this for my job as a field technician out in the Texas heat. I sweat a lot. My old bluetooth headset is plantronics ATT V521. That design kept it off of my head and dry from my perspiration. The V510 on the otherhand will have a large surface area directly on the side of your head and it collects a lot of sweat and moisture. My unit failed after about 2 weeks and this might be the reason why, or maybe it was defective. I sent it back and got a refund. I went back to using my old V521. If you work in hot areas or you expect to sweat all day, the V510 design is not a good choice.
On the other hand, The V510 stays on your ear firmer and is more comfortable than the V521. And the sound reception was extraordinarily good with the V510, much better than the V521 until it started to die. I can only reccomend the V510 is you won't be sweating too much while wearing it.
Plantronics voyager 510 July 28, 2010 Kevin L. Cart (Fort Wayne, IN) After a long search for a bluetooth ear piece I decided to choose this one for the positive reviews. I received it in a timely matter securely packaged. It included a good sized instruction booklet, a quick instruction card, 3 ear buds, wall charger, and misc warranty info.
I found that it paired easily to my Samsung moment. Call quality was excellent and according to the others on the line, i was clear. It is very loud, but volume is easily adjusted by the rocker on the back of the product, and the extra volume is welcome for many of the noisy environments i encountered. I also had no problems adjusting volume while in use. I did not have any difficulties ending or answering calls while wearing from the boom arm mounted button. The one thing I did not expect was the comfort level of the device. I discovered that i quite often forgot I was wearing it. The weight or fit of the device were neither a problem. The Voyager sits snugly on my ear without any pressure.
I also use the device for Playstation 3. It paired easily to the Playstation. On the first attempt to use the device i found that for some reason it was clipping badly, almost as if it was sampling at a very very low rate. Other players stated i was unintelligible. I gave up and decided to try again another day.
On the second time i tried it, it performed flawlessly, other players were crystal clear and so was I. I dont know what the initial problem was, but apperently it resolved itself.
The voyager supports two bluetooth devices at once, it decides which one is active at the moment and uses that one. I have found no issue with this.
The standy by time and talk time is impressive. I have not measured it, but it far exceeds my expectations.
The one thing I have noticed is that while there is a stigma for wearing a bluetooth headset, even though in many states it is necessary for answering in car calls, it is even more so with the Voyager. I still get comments at work or around with friends about the device, it is a large device and you will get the "welcome to xxxxxx, can i take your order" comments. The comments dont really bother me but it is a point to be brought up.
I have no reservations about the device and I solidly recommend it as a bluetooth headset for use with both mobile phones and Playstation 3.
Voyager 510 July 27, 2010 David Cozad (PHOENIX, ARIZONA, US) I am not only please with the product but also the cost I got it at.
