5 out of 5 stars excellent casio watch   September 6, 2010
Jorge Lopez (Mountain View Ca,)
I have enjoyed my new casio pathfinder pag40 3V watch. Its everything I expected from this product. Its has all the awsome gadgets I could ever use and more. I feel like a secret agent with my watch, as if I were 007 James Bond.

4 out of 5 stars Good quality for the price   September 3, 2010
Traveler
I travel quite a bit out of the country and need a watch that is rugged, has a lot of features, looks nice enough to wear with a coat and tie, but doesn't cost 100's of dollars. I did the research, read the reviews and settled on the Pathfinder. While I've only had it a couple of weeks, I've already had it on one trip and it has performed extremely well. I am very happy with the purchase and feel much more confident traveling with this watch than I would with a much cheaper model. I haven't had a chance to use every single feature, but the clock, altitude, alarm (there are 5), temperature/barometric pressure, and compass all seem to work fine. I haven't pushed the watch features as much as the reviewer has in Iraq but it has done everything I wanted and for a cost that isn't too painful.

This watch is good for barometric pressure and compass
Forget temperature and altimeter unless you hang from your pack

3 out of 5 stars Nice watch but BEWARE -- quality defect causes watch band screws to fall out   August 4, 2010

I like the watch but....

BE SURE TO TIGHTEN THE WATCH BAND SCREWS ON YOUR WATCH BEFORE WEARING IT OR ELSE THEY CAN FALL OUT.

The watchband screws fell out after I wore the watch about a dozen times. I don't wear it every day. I searched the web and found other people had the same problem.

I sent a couple of emails to Casio customer service and they never responded. If you lose a screw, you will have to either ship your watch to Casio, at your expense, with a copy of your receipt (if you still have it)and hope it is covered under warranty.

Or you can buy it online through Casio. I ended up buying the screw online for fifteen including shipping.

This watch is similar to an older Casio Pathfinder I have, but much better. I like all of the functions - compass, barometer, altimeter, thermometer, five separate alarms, stopwatch, graph display for barometric pressure and altimeter, and indiglo-type backlight. It did feel quite big and bulky at first, but I quickly got used to it because of my previous, slightly smaller Casio Pathfinder. The price has come down A LOT so I couldn't pass up the deal. I'm very pleased with my purchase.
